Foods Your Dog Shouldn't Eat

If your dogs are anything like mine, they will eat pretty much anything, whether it is good for them or not. With this comes responsibility for the owner as not only must you make sure your dog eats the right food, but you must also make sure it doesn't eat the wrong food.

Most dog owners know you should never feed your dog chocolate. That's because it can contain several substances that are highly toxic for a dog to ingest. Large amounts of chocolate, or drinks such as tea and coffee should never be given to your dog Even in small quantities they can be damaging, so dogs should never be fed them.

Alcohol is another substance your dog should never get the chance to taste. Again, it is highly toxic for a dog and even a relatively small amount can result in a coma or even death, so should be kept well away from a dog at all times.

One thing that not many dog owners realise should never be fed to a dog is grapes. They are poisonous to all types of dogs, although the toxin is currently unknown. Another example of a food that owners aren't aware of is onions and garlic. These can have serious consequences for the blood of your dog

If you are not sure about whether a food is safe for your dog then always be cautious. Contact a vet first before feeding your dog anything you are worried about, it is always better to be safe than sorry.
