Eagle Brand Dog Food Review

Eagle brand dog food were one of the few brands that were not affected by the big recall and contamination scare back in 2007. Going against the grain then Eagle Pack Pet Foods, who manufacture the Eagle brand dog food, have a strict policy on using only the best ingredients including antibiotic free meats with no added hormones, and whole grains that are herbicide free.

We all care deeply about our dogs and sometimes we all worry about what goes into their food. Nothing sparks an argument online faster than someone asking what the best dog food they can get is. While I'm not saying that Eagle brand dog food is the best, then it is refreshing to see a company that seems to take real pride in the quality of their food.

For instance they add in prebiotics (something only just emerging into our human food), probiotics, digestive enzymes, vitamins, minerals and kelp plus a whole host of additional ingredients to help improve and maintain the health of your dog, all have been carefully tested to see that they genuinely help you dog.

So Eagle brand dog food have raised the bar in the dog food industry and these high standards may be why they were able to avoid the contamination scares of 2007.

Of course you need to choose a dog food that suits your dog, some foods just don't seem to agree with certain breeds or even individual dogs, and while I haven't heard of any specific cases with Eagle brand dog food then just be wary if you see any bad signs such as lethargy, bad stomach movements, strange smells, sickness etc then you may need to try another food.

Eagle brand dog food is definitely a good choice but if you really want to know what goes into the food then the best course of action is to make it yourself, then you know exactly what goes into it and you can balance the nutritional content to suit your dog perfectly. It can take a little while to get used to but afterwards you'll never look back.
