Don't trust dog food reviews. Articles comparing one brand of commercially available dog food to others are almost always fundamentally flawed. Here's why.
They all work from the presupposition that one dog food brand can actually be significantly better than another. Although it is true that there is some quality variation between brands, the approach of most reviewers is founded on the mistaken belief that any of them are acceptable.

In reality, almost all commercially-available dog foods should be avoided. Dog food reviews are doing nothing but comparing one brand of poison to another.
That might sound like an extreme sentiment, but it isn't. Claiming that Brand A is somehow better than Brand B when both brands are little more than dangerous chemical soups is not helpful to dog owners. If you're looking for dog food reviews, it's because you care about your pet. If that's the case, you need to know that virtually all store-bought foods are horrible disasters.
Dog food often consists of the ground up remains of diseased animals. Road kill, euthanized pets, diseased poultry and cattle unfit for any other use are part of the mix. In some cases, the body bags that contained them are ground into the foods, too, along with pet collars and the very poisons used to euthanize "the ingredients".
That isn't all, though. Dog foods make use of chemicals and additives that you'll never see in human food. That's because those same ingredients are known to encourage diseases and to cause cancer. The labeling requirements are loose, the quality control standards are low, the ingredients are "iffy" at best, and the final product kills dogs. Slowly, but surely dog food robs your pet of years while simultaneously secretly crushing its quality of life.
Dog food reviews miss the point. You shouldn't be using dog food. At least you shouldn't be using the brand name products you see in the stores. You should be making the dog food yourself. Homemade dog food is easy to prepare and surprisingly cheap. Best of all, though, it can save your dog's life.
