· Added benefits - How does your dog's food encourage your pet to live a healthy, active life? Some brands use this factor to help sell dog food. However, the food that you choose should help your dog maintain a healthy lifestyle. Look closely at the food that you have chosen for your pet and determine how it can help him live longer life. Are there added nutrients that will promote healthy living?

· Going "organic" or "natural" - You've heard of people eating an organic diet, but have you heard of pet's eating organic or natural? You dog can benefit greatly from this by not being exposed to many of the preservatives and other chemicals that may affect his health. Again, it may be a bit pricey, but it is worth it to see your pet flourish the way he is intended to.

Be sure that you are fully aware of what your dog is consuming on a daily basis. The quality of the food should be one of your top priorities. You dog will live a healthier, happier life.
